Little Man

It's hard to believe that Corbin will be 10 months old on Friday! He has definitely been growing like a weed and changing in so many ways. He learns something new all the time and I'm constantly surprised by his new tricks!

I think he has decided to stick to the army crawl instead of all that extra effort of getting up on his hands and knees and crawling. But he has perfected his own crawl and can be very fast! He is pulling up to his knees and even to standing. He has done a little bit of cruising along surfaces he can hold on to, but isn't too sure about going too fast doing that yet and doesn't even do it on a regular basis. This kid is definitely into everything though. I think he might end up being a climber too. He got stuck in the toy basket the other day because he pulled up on it and then fell over and climbed in.

He says "Mama" and "Dada" all the time and in my opinion he has tried to say "baby" (maybe it was just a coincidence, but it really sounded like it!) and "bye bye" and "hi". He also can wave hi and bye bye. It is so cute!

Our little man had a rough week after I got sick. I think he was going through separation anxiety because I wasn't with him as much as he is used to. Clint was helping take care of him all weekend when I was sick. The following week was rough. He wouldn't let me put him in his bed at night or at nap time. Even if he was completely asleep, he would wake up screaming if I tried to lay him down which resulted in very little restful sleep for all of us. I ended up just letting him sleep in our bed a few nights which is not comfortable for me. I don't sleep very deeply when he is in my bed. Not only am I worried about where he is the whole time, but he usually rolls up against me and leaves me no room which makes me very uncomfortable. After a few miserable nights I decided that he was just having separation anxiety and decided it was time to do sleep training. So we have started trying to keep the bedtime routine very consistent every night which can sometimes be hard with a 5 year old. But we have been doing a pretty good job of keeping it consistent so far. Then I take Corbin in his room, feed him, and rock him and give him hugs and kisses and put him to bed. He of course screams and cries, but so far every night he has eventually gone to sleep and slept all night! Also, one night he even slept 13 hours! Every night gets better and he cries less and goes to sleep faster so hopefully his bedtime will have no anxiety soon.

Other than that, he is such a happy little guy and loves his sister and is so curious and learning lots! We're so blessed to have him!
