You are not to do as we do here today, everyone doing as they see fit, since you have not yet reached the resting place and the inheritance the lord your God is giving you. Deuteronomy 12: 8-9
I was reading in Deuteronomy today and came across this verse. It made me think of the way we, including myself, think a lot of times today. We do things and reason with ourselves that we have the right to do it. So many times we forget to think if God wants us to act or think in that way. I know I need to remember to think about His will more than my own. It is hard when the whole world thinks that way.
This is just a thought I had today. Tell me your thoughts on this scripture.

my heart jumps when reading "since you have not yet reached the resting place and the inheritance the lord your God is giving you". More and more I can't wait until I get there and for me, time is going by too slow but it also gives me strength and hope when things always seem to not work out as I would like to have them. It helps, too, to not feel "embarrassed" when friends don't believe (in) the same things as I do. But sometimes it is really hard, as you say, because it's easy to "shift" when the world around you thinks differently.
